SC 4i turns any switch into smart light control
Installed behind a standard wall switch, SC 4i connects familiar physical controls with brightness, color temperature, and scene control in the Spectoda ecosystem.

SC 4i turns any switch into smart light control
SC 4i is a new input controller from Spectoda that is installed behind a push-button wall switch and wirelessly connects it to the Spectoda ecosystem. This allows a standard wall switch to control brightness, color temperature, or lighting scenes, depending on the luminaire type and project configuration.

SC 4i is designed for projects where physical wall control still matters, but the lighting system behind it needs to be flexible and capable. A standard push-button switch can stay exactly where users expect it, while its role inside the installation becomes much more powerful.
In many interiors, a wall switch remains the most natural way to control light. It is familiar, immediate, and requires no explanation.
At the same time, the role of lighting itself is changing. In many projects, luminaires no longer operate in one fixed mode only. Users need to adjust light intensity, change color temperature, or switch between scenes depending on the current use of the space.
That is exactly the context in which SC 4i was created.
SC 4i is an input controller installed behind a push-button wall switch, linking physical controls with the Spectoda system. A standard wall switch can therefore become a wireless control point for managed lighting.
In practice, this means the switch can be used to control:
- on and off,
- brightness,
- color temperature,
- lighting scenes.
What matters is that the user experience stays familiar. Control remains physical, simple, and intuitive. The change happens inside the system, not in the user habit.
Another major advantage of SC 4i is design flexibility. The controller can be placed behind a push-button switch in virtually any design style. This means the project does not have to compromise between technology and the visual language of the interior. The selected switch line and the overall architectural intent can stay intact.
This is especially relevant in projects where:
- physical wall switches are still the preferred control method,
- luminaires support dimming or color temperature control,
- the visual consistency of the interior needs to be preserved,
- retrofit should happen without complex infrastructure work.
SC 4i connects standard electrical installation with the possibilities of smart lighting control. It does not remove the wall switch from the system. It gives it a new role within a modern lighting setup.
If you are designing a space where lighting control should remain natural for users while also supporting contemporary lighting requirements, SC 4i is built for exactly that use case.
