Království železnic, a unique tourist attraction in Prague, has undergone a major lighting upgrade. As part of this atypical project, Spectoda and Lumbio replaced old fluorescent lamps with modern LED profiles, reducing energy consumption and enriching the visitor experience with new lighting scenes.
Království železnic is a fascinating model railway that presents a miniature world of trains, cities and landscapes. This attraction draws tourists from all over the world and is renowned for its precision and detail. However, outdated fluorescent tubes and an old control system have begun to pose a significant problem for the operators.
Goal of the project
The main goal of the project was to replace the old fluorescent tubes with modern and efficient LED profiles. These new lights were not only to reduce energy consumption, but also to offer a wider range of lighting scenes, such as simulating storms, sunrise and sunset.
Process and implementation
Together with our partner Lumbio, we designed unique lights that combine warm and cool white with digital RGB strips. Each light is equipped with a controller that allows you to create advanced lighting scenes. The process involved the following steps:
- Analysis of the current situation: Assessment of existing lighting and identification of key issues.
- Design solution: Collaboration with Lumbio to design customized lights.
- Installation: Careful installation of the new LED profiles, taking into respect the sensitivity of the models.
- Testing and tuning: Testing the new lights and tuning them for optimal results.
Technology and tools
The following technologies and tools were used during the project:
- LED lighting: energy-saving and powerful lights with a long service life.
- Digital LED strips: Allows you to create different lighting effects.
- Spectoda Controller Industry A: A controller from the Spectoda ecosystem designed to control lighting scenes via DALI drivers.
Results
The project resulted in significant energy savings and increased visitor satisfaction. The new LED profiles brought savings in lighting costs and the return on investment was achieved in just 11 months. In addition, the new lights enabled the creation of impressive lighting scenes that enhance the visitor experience.
Challenges and solutions
One of the main challenges was installing the lights over sensitive track models where access was very difficult. The client was concerned about possible damage to the models during installation. Through careful planning and precise execution, the installation was successful without damage and was completed faster than planned.

The client was very satisfied with the outcome of the project. He appreciated the quality of the new lighting and the hassle-free installation. The new lights are more modern, better and bring a whole new experience for our visitors."
The lighting upgrade at the Kingdom Railway shows how important innovation and technology are to improving the visitor experience. By working with Spectoda and Lumbio, energy-efficient solutions and fascinating lighting scenes have been created to enrich the overall experience of the visit.
