ROXY: lighting installations across the club
A long-term collaboration covering multiple installations from entrance features to ceiling structures and stage elements.
ROXY is one of Spectoda's long-term projects in Prague nightlife. Over multiple iterations, we delivered several independent but interconnected lighting installations across the venue, from entrance features and ceiling structures to stage-focused dynamic elements.
Project scope across multiple installations
The collaboration was not a one-off deployment. It evolved in phases, where each new installation built on previous technical decisions and visual language. This allowed ROXY to keep a coherent identity while continuously adding new light layers.
- Dynamic entrance lighting for first-contact atmosphere.
- Ceiling installation synchronized with the club's event program.
- Scenic wall and summer stage elements with programmable animations.
- Expandable architecture for future interventions without full rewiring.
Result
ROXY gained a modular lighting ecosystem that can grow over time and still behave as one visual system. The sections below list individual project updates that together form this case study.
What we wrote about during the project
Again in ROXY: A sixth installation by Spectoda
We have newly installed 8 lanes of LED strips, each 12 m long, which now run from the entrance to the staircase. This replaced the BE30 illuminated sign we created for the club's 30th anniversary.
Ceiling in ROXY Is Enhanced with Dynamic Lighting
First, we tested and determined the right angle for the strips to shine as brightly as possible. The following implementation took a week.
Tree Construction Lights Up the Roxy Summer Stage
The light tree is composed of dozens of triangles and stars, which we assembled from 250 m of wooden slats covered with 400 m of LED strips.
A Wall of Light Is Dancing in the Roxy Club. Spectoda Has Given It Dynamics and Colours
The Roxy is dominated by art-deco architecture. The artistic elements evoke the atmosphere of a first-republic cinema, where the space lives with modern music and wild dancing.
