ELI Beamlines: lighting installations for science and public events
A collaboration focused on installations that combine science communication with immersive light atmospheres for visitors.
ELI Beamlines is a science environment where lighting serves both communication and visitor experience. Our collaboration covered multiple outputs, from educational light installations to atmosphere design for public events.
From science explanation to immersive atmosphere
We used programmable LED systems to visualize scientific principles in a way that is understandable for broader audiences and flexible for event formats. The same technical foundation also supported temporary event lighting scenarios.
- Educational light sculpture demonstrating laser principles.
- Scenic atmosphere for the Night of Researchers event.
- Reusable control logic for recurring public presentations.
Result
The project created a consistent lighting layer for both scientific storytelling and live public programs. The related updates listed below represent the individual stages of this broader collaboration.
What we wrote about during the project
Night of Researchers in the ELI Beamlines Centre was complemented by a light atmosphere
On 6 October, the Night of Researchers was again held in many parts of the Czech Republic. In Dolní Břežany, in the heart of the ELI Beamlines Science Centre, visitors witnessed dazzling scientific experiments and a magical light atmosphere. And that is exactly what we had the opportunity to create. The Night of Researchers is […]
Light Shows the Public How a Laser Works
Spectoda constructed a light sculpture for the ELI Beamlines laser research centre. This time we used the possibilities of LED strips controlled by our system to demonstrate how lasers work. ELI Beamlines first exhibited the construction in June. During their presentation at the Science Fair at the Letňany Exhibition Centre in Prague. Light vs. Laser: […]
