A reliable light source that functions independently of cables or an internet connection

Why Spectoda is fundamentally local

When you say "smart lighting control system," most people imagine solutions similar to those used in homes—i.e., control via Wi-Fi and an internet connection.

This may be convenient, but it also has limitations:
- You need a stable network.
- You interfere with the IT infrastructure.
- And what if the internet goes down? The whole system stops working.

At Spectoda, we took a different approach. Local at its core = reliable and secure
Spectoda works independently of the internet. All our controllers communicate with each other directly via a 2.4 GHz radio network – we call this Spectoda Mesh.

Control? Simply via a phone connected via Bluetooth.

The result:
- The light always works.
- No Wi-Fi.
- No dependence on the cloud.

When the internet is not the solution
In many spaces, connecting lights to a local network is not possible at all – or it is unnecessarily complicated. Typically in manufacturing and industrial halls, where IT infrastructure is strictly guarded, or in historic buildings, where the internet would pose a technical and bureaucratic problem.

With Spectoda, you don't have to worry about that. Our system is self-sufficient – it works independently, without interfering with the internal network.

And when the internet makes sense?

Sure – the internet can offer additional possibilities. That's why we have Spectoda Gateway – an optional add-on that adds:
remote access from anywhere, data collection and analysis (via Spectoda Analytics), connection to other systems.

But beware – Gateway is not necessary. It's a bonus, not a requirement.

Why do we insist on this?
We want a system that can handle any environment, from heritage-protected buildings without internet, to halls with strict IT rules, to modern offices connected to the cloud. A local base guarantees reliability. The internet adds extra features – but the lights must always work, not just when there is a signal.
