A real-life story: when cables are not enough
Imagine the daily hustle and bustle of a production hall or school corridor. Some parts are easily accessible and cabling makes sense there — for example, long rows of luminaires along aisles. Elsewhere, however, the situation is completely different. Hard-to-reach ceilings, finished structures, tall ladders, or areas where it is impossible to cut or add new wiring due to ongoing operations.
We encountered precisely these challenges in several projects:
- The Slavia sports hall in Havířov – a combination of DALI control and wireless communication between controllers.
- School premises where some of the lights run on DALI, but sensors and controls need to be wireless.
- Logistics and production halls where some of the electrical installations are original and some are new – ideal for a hybrid approach.

How hybrid control works:
- The controllers communicate wirelessly with each other via Spectoda Mesh, which simplifies installation, speeds up deployment, and reduces costs.
- Individual controllers control luminaires (or drivers) via DALI lines where it makes sense.
